Joining forces with Jacob’s Ladder

Each year, staff at Forrester Sylvester Mackett Solicitors put forward nominations and cast a vote for their charity of the year. All fundraising efforts throughout the year then go towards that cause.

For 2019, the firm has chosen Jacob’s Ladder, a Warminster-based not-for-profit community organisation which supports children and young adults with special needs.

Jacob’s Ladder was started by Kirsty Holdsworth in memory of her younger brother Jacob, who had Fragile-X syndrome and died aged five. Jacob’s Ladder now offers fun and stimulating after school clubs, school-holiday playschemes, stay and play sessions and family days for children with special needs aged 2-19, and their families.

Forrester Sylvester Mackett’s senior partner, Nigel Godsiffe, said “We are delighted to be supporting such a worthwhile local cause. Our staff tend to vote for organisations close to their heart, and we really look forward to raising as much as possible for Jacob’s Ladder over the coming year. I will even be donning my walking boots in the spring!”

The team at Forrester Sylvester Mackett are now putting plans in place to raise as much as possible for the organisation throughout 2019. In May, staff and their families are going to complete a 14 mile sponsored walk along the Avon and Kennet canal. There are also regular cake sales, dress-down days and raffles being arranged.
