About Anna:

Anna has at least 9 years of post-qualification work experience as a family lawyer,  having worked with separating and divorcing individuals, mainly in relation to issues around the division of the matrimonial assets and the post-separation arrangements for the care of the family’s children.

Before training as a solicitor Anna qualified as a Speech Therapist, working with people with learning difficulties and with their educational and family support networks.  She has therefore always had in interest in working with individuals with communication difficulties.

Anna also has experience of having worked in both primary and secondary schools with children and their families, often working with members of school staff and teams of other professionals to support families to work for better outcomes for the children, and working with the young people themselves.

Anna is a qualified parenting course facilitator.  She has experience of working with young people with mental health issues, and has Mental Health First Aid training with both adults and children.  She has also undertaken training in Solution Focussed Brief Therapy.

Since having trained as a family mediator alongside her work as a family solicitor Anna has increasingly witnessed the benefits of mediation to the families she has worked with, and has become increasingly drawn to working with separating or separated couples who wish to resolve the issues that arise following family breakdown using Non-Court Dispute Resolution approaches.  She is currently, therefore, working exclusively as a family mediator.

Anna is keen to work with other professionals and organisations who support families and children to ensure the best outcomes for her mediation clients during and following relationship breakdowns.

Anna is happy to work with suitable couples at all stages of their relationship difficulties. She hopes to assist couples to avoid what most people find are emotionally damaging, expensive and time-consuming court proceedings.

Divorce and separation are never easy, but Anna is keen to assist her clients to try to put past difficulties behind them, to minimise conflict (and the damage that conflict between couples is known to cause children), to assist them to communicate better with each other after mediation has ended, and for the families she works with to put amicable proposals to each other which enable all family members to look forward to a positive future despite the divorce or separation.
