Ruth was called to the Bar in 2002, and now specialises in family law. Qualified as a barrister, Ruth has “dual capacity” status, which enables her to use that experience as a barrister within a firm of solicitors.
Ruth’s family law practice includes divorce/dissolution and matrimonial/partnership finance, as well as disputes involving children.
Matrimonial/partnership finance work covers all matters, from those with modest assets, to high net worth cases. For some people, a pre-nuptial or post-nuptial agreement may be appropriate, and Ruth will advise you about these.
Disputes involving children include disputes about where children live, who they spend time with, who pays maintenance for them, and how decisions about them are made.
Other areas of family law which Ruth will advise upon include cohabitation agreements, separation agreements and financial arrangements following the breakdown of cohabiting relationships, domestic violence, and injunctive relief.
Ruth combines her court advocacy experience with her office-based advice, enabling clients to have continuity of representation throughout their case. Clients appreciate Ruth’s straightforward approach and clear advice.
Ruth is a member of the Family Law Bar Association.
